Unfortunately I went 0 for two on the ghosts on Thursday morning out of Dana. One around 20 and the other was a tanker model Got one thresher and lost another one. Private boater next to me got a ghost of about 45 lbs. Macks were hard to come by. Lots of smelt around. I was on the water by 4:00 am but most of the action was at 6 ish

agreed. Nothing wrong with killing a T, but I remember seeing them hanging on the scale in DP with pup tails hanging out of them and that didn't sit right with me. The trick is to get them on the boat before the emergency evacuation of the pups so that they weigh more and so that you're ego can be that much bigger. I hope the sarcasm in that is piercing.

Your chances will increase if your out during the week. Newport Zoo = boats will get you only schoolies, and bass.
Even the schoolies left soon as the hardbottom inflatable with a huge honda on the back went screaming by stearing its way along the kelp line... |
