Yak rack for small pickup truck
Up for sale is a Yakima kayak rack for a pickup. I use it on my Ford Ranger, but with the right clips it could be used on any mini truck. I took my yak to baja and over the mountains to AZ. It's great because it leaves the bed of your truck open to carry all your other stuff. I'm only selling because after 3 shoulder surgeries it's just too much for me to lift my yak overhead after a day of paddling. The front crossbar mounts over the cab, and locks in place to hold the front saddle. The rear crossbar is supported by 2 towers that mount to the side rails of the bed of the truck. This rack can be modified to carry almost anything. I have used it to carry 2 yaks no problem. Also useful as a ladder rack, or to carry sheets of plywood or drywall. It comes with one set of Mako saddles, all the straps and locking hardware. Also the nifty extension bar to assist in loading / unloading. Its in great condition, I took it off after every use and kept inside my garage, so there's no UV damage. Asking only $125.00, I paid about 350.00 3 years ago. I'm working on uploading photos, or just check the yakima web site. Cheers James Last edited by O'side Yakker; 05-25-2010 at 06:29 AM. Reason: problem with my camera |
