Wide open WSB bite 05-12-10
Light line and a fast retrieve was the ticket. I hope it's not too crowded tomorrow after this report but the fishing was just too good not to report. Sorry there are geographical points of interest in the photo so some people may be able to triangulate where the fish was caught. Again....................sorry for ruining it for everyone who wants to keep this bite hush hush!!!! I just couldn't help myself. |

They sure as shit weren't biting this morning. The only thing biting was nasty surf going out and coming in. Nice to meet everyone today.

I'll second that one. I aborted my first attempt, and made it on the second while taking 3 in the face and chest (the morning looked like real garage sale conditions). Needed to back paddle through about a dozen bigger sets on the way in. I managed a slime stick and a Bonito; got a few other hits, but I should of stayed away from the Teflon hooks. |

I had a pucker factor of about 8 coming back in. I sat out beyond the breakers getting my timing down for about 15 min. Then just said fahq it and went for it. I bailed at chest level and did the 40yd body (kayak) drag in record time. The previous day's forecast for yesterday was Bull Sheeeeet.

Thats the way to land it.
-Ocean is The Boss- Whatever it says you have to do to return through the surf - you do. That includes swimming it in. I was out in a skiff yesterday and saw some big mixed up swell. -------------------------- Stow it all and you'll never flip. But if you try to cut a corner even once - you will get crushed. |
