Transducer question - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

For those of you who have mounted a transducer in the hull of your yaks, can you tell me do you specifically have to buy a thru-hulll transducer or is the skimmer transducer marine gooped into place.

The skimmer will work just fine.
