http://www.nctimes.com/news/local/sd...8d964f1ce.html No political comments - I already bored most of you enough at the BBQ. This is just FYI. Greenscales |

I was wondering what all the emergency vehicle lights were for at Torrey Pines when I was paddling out at LJ at about 5:15AM. I figured maybe a swimmer had drown, but that didn't explain why such a huge response.
Thanks for the info. |

There has been a lot of stories recently of Illegals coming over on boats in both San Diego County and Orange County

LOL!
Maybe we could somehow convince the cartels and smugglers to start using Parker boats and nice center consoles to attack our sovreignty! Those auctions would be sick! Willy |

About a year a ago I saw a news report on CBP border seizures and auctions. CBP auctions off the vehicles and property that they seize at the border crossings and other places. I'm not sure if there is a regular schedule. You can check with the CBP or search the web. There are a lot of websites that list all the various seized property auctions. I'm not sure which agency would take possession of the boats that are used in smuggling. I would imagine that it would be CBP or the USCG if they catch them while still out at sea. Once they abandon the boat on the shore it might be the San Diego Lifeguards or SDPD.

I know that the Lifeguards do not take possession.

I don't know who has legal custody of the abandoned boats, but the lifeguards tow them to the moorings at Mission Bay. They used to have all sorts of boats that were confiscated/abandoned at the public moorings throughout SD.
