Don't try this

Lost my truck recently and decided to improvise a way down to the beach.

Worked for about 10min. - it was glorious, then it broke and I sent my kayak for a ride on its own.

there's an improved model in the works...

Design looks good. Use iron pipe instead of PVC.

so did it flip due to the short wheel base or pvc failure per say?

Looks like it could use an extra support between the post under the seat and the support under the front hatch. That should support the frame and stiffen it. At first glance I would say that is where you may have lost it.

Point taken. The new design is reinforced in these areas and I think I'm gonna use the kayak itself as the main frame. There was too much swaying when I slowed down and caused the pvc glue to break at the joints. I'll be fishin in no time. too bad it's not ready today

A couple of 1/4 self tapping screws in the joints with the glue would seal the deal! Awesom idea! double thumbs up!

Doesn't the trailer need a pivet point so that when the bicycle
leans into a turn the trailer can remain level with the ground.

By the way. Sway will usually occur if there is to much weight behind
the tires. If possible move the yak up the trailer or add some weight
in the front of the yak. If the weight is behind the tires it becomes the
greater force and will try to steer its self from the back.

Could beef up the pvc by using 1/2" inside 3/4". Adds to teh strengthe substantially.

Looks like a great design with lots of potential. If I were building it, I would use 2" ABS rather than PVC and run a line or cable from the anchor point on the bike through the pipe to a place near the wheels. I would put some tension on the cable so it becomes kind of an internal safety strap.

If you can identify some places that tend to flex too much, just cut a larger piece of pipe in half and glue it to the flex points.

You have two flex points that, unless you figure out how to brace them, will always be a problem. They are at the seat and at the 45 degree angle over wheel. You could create a different kind of connection at the seat that pivioted up and down as well as right and left. The 45 degree connection needs to be really beefed up. I bet that is where the thing broke.
