Once the water starts to warm up, (such as now), I seldom wear waders. If I do, I have a pair of Keen sandals that I wear over the booties. You can get them anywhere but I got mine at REI. These work great, especially if I have to walk a ways from where I park the car to the launch.

Buy a pair of cheap water shoes from Target or Wallmart. They work great. I pretty much wear my waders year round unless I am launching in the afternoon.

Dive booties work well too, but you won't be needing waders in a few more weeks anyways.

Check cabelas, they sell a neoprene wading boot with a felt bottom, nice and warm in winter. Be sure to get 1 size bigger than normal foot size. But those other options mentioed work good, as well as Krocs.
In the summer, I like to wear something like the aqua socks, or slip on shoes, then throw them in the hatch when I am done walking on pavement, and back to the sand. I wear waders year round, good sublock, unless it the heat is really bad, then peel them off. Just get something, I have worn holes in 2 pairs of waders for not wearing boots, etc... ![]() |

Crocs with a back on them. Nice and wide, light, they fit over the wader socks perfect.

wading boots alternative
I have been going out with dry pants waterproof socks and some cheap water socks. All sealed up, stay completely dry. Keeps from having cold miserable days on the water.
