How High can a King Mackerel Sky?

My last kayak outing was pretty slow, but my GoPro caught a King Mackerel Jumping.

I have seen them jump like that hitting the bait on the way up, hitting the bait on the way down, and also jumping multiple times(almost as if celebrating) with a large bait in the jaws.

Rarely any jigging top water action for kings in SE Florida. Sometimes see them sky on a slow trolled or kite bait.

Sth Padre island, Sth of Corpus Cristi Texas has the most epic topwater jigging action for Kings. Popper jigs get crushed in shallow off the beaches. The area does not see much pressure as it is a FWD trip down a beach that is out of the way from any other destination. The island has no access to Mexico, so the only other traffic if any is typically smugglers or commercial snapper boats.

Based on that picture. He's about 130 feet high. It's amazing they can jump that Hi out of the water.

Yeah, pretty amazing, IDK about the height estimate, the kayak being so low to the water, everything looks higher than it probably is. Kings frequently jump 6-12ft out of the water. I have seen a few jumps to eye level while on a ship with 40ft of freeboard, but the one in the video does look exceptionally higher.
