La Jolla 6-25-2021 on the Solo Skiff / No Yellows this time.

The weather forecast has not been good as far as heat in most of the west, except for on the coast. The wind and surf forecast at the coast has been, not good at many times and some days it's a small craft warning. After 4 great weekly trips to La Jolla, I was not looking for or expecting any great fishing and the full moon ,made think that the bite would not be good. It was over cast as I expected, and a welcomed change from the weeks of high heat. The surf looked small as it has for weeks at times, then when you wade into the water they are almost twice the size and it not a visual illusion's. Then it's you just have to stay knee deep and wait out the large sets and it can take several minutes Even a shorter than normal day out on the ocean is so much an better than cooking in the heat of inland. On the water time is always great. No great fish porn this time, but it's not all about the fish you catch. It's about the quality time you spend on the water.

Yes it was, Thanks Quang. I always try to make it about enjoying the experience of La Jolla a beautiful special place. The chasing and hooking up with Trophy Fish is just the icing on the cake. Tight Lines.

I was out there on the 25th too...short interval surf made the launch a little interesting. And the subsequent short interval swell with that afternoon wind made it tough all day...like you said, still beats not getting out on the water!

Yeah it's been that way for weeks. The wind dies down and all is nice for a while and then the wind picks up and it starts to get a little unpleasant, most often by noon. It's still ok, but I miss being able to enjoy a longer day on the water. We take what we can, cause it beat the hell out of last year.

Rad video! Not too many people in kayaks get to fish that far up the beach due to the distance but that skiff makes it easy. Lots of fish out there and way less pressure on the right days. Thanks for the video!
