Pyramid lake (CA) tips??

Buddy and I want to go and try to find some striper bass and fish some new places. Any one have any tips to fishing pyramid lake or any lake/ river suggestion with three or four hours from San Diego. Thank you for the help, tight lines!

No tips for the actual fishing but make absolutely sure your kayak is dry inside and out when you get there or you won't be allowed to bring it in.

If you're a bait guy, I was able to hang a couple stripers there with cut sardines. Fly line or with a half ounce Carolina mid water column. You'll see slot of people trolling Alabama type of rigs. Many of the guides there fish that way exclusively.
