WSB in MDR...

Ok...got your attention...Thursday morning if you have the time...

Marina Del Rey Anglers has successfully raised another big batch of White Seabass. They are to be released Thursday.
Early Thursday Morning! 4/8/2020
Congrats to all the Pen Pals. And thank you to Keith Moret for leading the team and the MDRA conservation committee. Healthy fish!

But they need help! This is a call for all the healthy strong men of the club to come out and help move the fish. Many Hands Make Light Work! Two men per bucket will transfer the fish to the boat easier. The infestation of Sea Lions inside our harbor means we must transport the juvenile White Seabass outside of the marina.

Capt Mike Reinsch and his boat the Betty-O will be transporting the fish out. In Batches. The Transfer from the pen to the boat is going to be very labor intensive. So all able bodied help is welcome! First Load is at 6 am. And then the boat will go out. And come back likely taking three boat loads out to sea to get all 3,700 fish released!

Parking in Burton Chase Park is free on weekdays that are not holidays.

Questions:

1--Where at the park do we meet?

2-Would an out of shape, 70 years old with good intensions be useful?

3-If the first load is at 6:00 AM, at what time should the bodies be there?

Watch...

Talked to Keith Lambert...he helps coordinate some of the events at MDR...
He says, that at this time they seem to be OK for volunteers and may not need help after all...
You're welcome to stop by and watch the release if you like...they anticipate three batches of fish to be loaded so they may need volunteers later in the AM if some of the early folks lose interest...
It's hard to miss the fenced WSB pens along the water in the park Hashiem...
LOL

I remember those pens when I was fishing the pier (now removed) at the park.

I had promised the Mrs. to take her to Newport Beach for a visit on Thursday.

Now that they are ok with volunteers, I will do that.
