I called Huntington Harbor Patrol and they said no kayak still. I asked if I can go out with my gas powered solo skiff and he still tells me no.

You can always go out of Los Alamitos bay to get to the oil platform. Some people launch from 69 Pl and it's about 2.5miles to the oil rig. Be careful there's a lot of boat traffic and they go fast in the channel. Quote:
