Dude! That sucks. Was it at the launch? Surf was a bit hectic today.
Bro, I know hind sight is 20/20, but get a leash for your drive dude haha. Also, if you lost it at the launch, it could turn up at low tide. I'd go back at the next tide to try to find it. I think guys have recovered their drives here and from facebook. |

sadly it was leashed. My drive was acting a little funny, so i took it out to take a peek. Put the drive on hatch so I could grab something out of my box behind seat. Weird angle wind/boat wake knocked drive off hatch and when leash tighetend the f'ing knot gave way, off she went. by the time i secured a couple of things to dive in, she was gone. F%&K!!!

possibilities
1. get lucky and find your drive at low tide if lost at launch.
2. someone sells you a 180 that was lost or stolen. 3. most realistic scenario is that you have to fork out some serious dough to a dealer. 20$ seems like a lot for an oem Hobie leash, but a small price to pay in retrospect to todays prices for a drive. I remove quick release plastic buckle and secure lease directly to drive. do not remove when over water. I recently had to replace my 180 drive when I had a break-in of garage during Christmas. Andy hooked me up. |
