Channel Islands 8/24

Heading to the harbor tomorrow, Saturday 8/24. 7am

Conditions aren't looking the greatest, but I haven't touched the water in a while.

Seagrass Outback, I'd like to meet some of you guys.

Cheers! - Nick

I’m at the river, otherwise I’d be there. Next week perhaps.

Hmmm, I was out a few weeks ago and there was plenty of room, but I’ll take your advice and get in earlier. Next time!

You can also park on the street from the CG station to kiddy/Hobie beach. If your vehicle can go up a curb, you can launch next to the CG station and park in the dirt.

Ended up staying home and helping my pops fillet a cooler full of YFT from his recent trip.

Will definitely be out there this upcoming Saturday 31, got a new fish finder going. Might head out to the Canyon if you guys are up.

My buddy Weso is down too. It’d be nice to get out there with the tide looking low, but then if we get blown out we can hit the break wall. Have any of you guys been to the canyon lately? Been a few years since I was out there. Lots of cuda, occasional WSB back then anyways.

I have never been but was watching the screen a month back on the Erna B as we went over the canyon and saw some big marks hanging off the edges.

And that's a 10-4 good buddy on the convoy.

MSW is showing ideal launch conditions early Saturday at Hueneme or a sort of slow ride from Hueneme back to CI if we launch from there.

I’m happy with a CI launch. It would be nice to have 4-5 of us out there.

Glad to see a contingent of somewhat locals coming in. I was at a loss between all the Whales Vagina reports and the central coast kayak fishing site being slow as of late.

I have a party that afternoon near Hueneme. I’m aiming for an early launch.

Thoughts?

I was contemplating moving to LJ with all the content on the site.

I'm game for Harbor at dawn. Should we say 630?

I will be able to launch by 6:30, will head over and grab some live bait before going out. Will get bait and hang by the beach area till a group has formed if needed. Haven't used my bait tank in a while, will be nice. Still need practice on taking photos on the measuring board for the slam down.

I’ll be there at 6. I have some frozen octopus and squid, and a new freakin’ sabiki rod.

My bait tank is questionable after my kayak capsized. The dragonfly fish finder is working like a champ though...

Well shit, knew it had been a while since I used my bait tank.... Need to setup a wire to my trolling motor battery. These small batteries always need attention.
