Just went out on the surfboard for calico this AM - they were biting all over the kelp on hookup baits but just off Marine street outside the kelp line was a crap ton of PBs all bunched together riding each other’s ass. Either a friendly day on the water or some worthwhile action out there. Minimal boats north or south of the crowd. Water is suprisngly cold on the inside but distinct warm up about 200yds out, very comfortable trunking it. Dark murky water and wind chop even at 0800. Good luck.

What do you carry with you when you do this and where do you launch from?

Just a backpack with light tackle and a rod. Can pretty much launch from anywhere but I find Marine St is a pretty short paddle to the kelp and easy in and out.
