9/1 offshore, anyone interested

Depending on surf, weather, reports, etc I'm thinking of heading offshore early on 9/1 from Dana point or la jolla. Thought I'd post this to see if anybody wants to launch around the same time.

I'm down. How many miles are you planning?

Thinking DP is a better choice

Skiff

I'll be looking for paddies on Friday out of Dana from my 18' skiff...
If we find anything in close enough for the kayaks I'll PM the intel to you Friday night with some numbers to head towards...
Good Luck cris.

Hey GT I'll pm you my number -

I'm not a mileage junkie but I'm comfortable doing up to 12 hours on my kayak. I have safety gear and I'm conservative so I'll head W/SW as I feel comfortable.

Hey Jim,

I'll pm you my number too. Appreciate the offer! Good luck Friday!

I'm in. Launch at 5:30 am and leave the harbor at 6am after loading up on bait.

We can easily cruise at 3 mph or so for 4 or 5 hrs south west. Then let the wind help us and head back in at a different angle for the next 6 hrs?

Who else is in?

530, you guys are sleeping in!

A 530 start time gets you out the harbor with bait on a Saturday around 7 am.

If I get out I'll post a report too. Good luck.

Keep yer head on a swivel. Last long weekend of the summer, PB & PWC fleet will be out in force & drinking heavily. Not as much of an issue away from the harbor, but they will not be paying as much attention offshore either

Good luck amigos!

Unless you are planning for say 0330 arrival and 0400/0430 launch at the latest, you may honestly be better trying to make bait on your way out..

I am still missing a few key items to take my PA offshore but will keep an eye out for other opportunities to go and learn from some experts. Not an offshore fishing newbie but I am when it comes to a kayak as the platform.

No Report...

Sorry no report for you out of Dana...
Since it was so windy last night and it mucked things up, I launched the skiff out of Cabrillo and hit all the spots out to the outer rigs and out into the channel towards Cat for NADA...burned some old fuel and ran the boat... so all is good...maybe next time...!
