Big day!

Lost my gaff the week before - perfect timing! After 1.5 hours of trolling a live sardine, I lip hooked a good one. Got him stowed, cleaned up, got back on the spot and 3 minutes later, hooked another good one.

So no gaff and no net but did have one game clip. With good current and a long leader, it was very nerve wracking. Both fish shook the clip repeatedly before I could close it and pop a gill. Both fish were personal bests!! 42 bs and 38 lbs.

You are my new HERO!

80 pounds of EXQUISITE, hedonistic, sumptuous pleasure, oh my! I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it.

You caught these in Santa Barbara?

That photo is suitable for framing! Do it. Make a second copy for your daughter.
