Seriously, roll off the guy. That was an awesome video. That is a pretty crazy sled you've got as well. 17'!

😂😂😂😂😂that was like watching Archie bunker . The tshark did more circles than a Indy 500 . I was waiting for that rod to break like 5 time holding it mid span and no freespool🤣. And the reel dunks had me crying towards the end . What a emotional rollercoaster

Now that was a GREAT video! Not pretty, but entertaining. And the hero lands his big fish in the end despite everything. Way to go!

I've never fished for Thresher and always wondered how you would go about landing one from a 'yak. Now I know, sorta.

CONGRATS!

Congrats on the T-Shark and thanks for sharing. They are an absolute blast to fight and one of the best table fares, IMHO. The belly meat is really excellent!

I have caught a bunch sharks over the years, but have only harvested one myself, to date. Here is that experience

Its not as easy as it may look, especially in my case. I took a larger Thresher on a 27.5˝ wide kayak.

Some suggestions have been mentioned, but here is some nice info of Thresher sharks that may be helpful for all.

Know the difference between male vs female (claspers), how to minimize the fight for release and how to handle.

Cheers!

Kage Gaff???

Nice catch I loved watching the video, it got me thinking

Are we allowed to use cage gaffs for sharks and rays here in SD? I was looking up rules and didn't really find a clear answer except definite no for other species. Might be worth carrying both kinds if allowed down here... Can anyone help on this I did email a friend at dfg but he hasn't responded yet with a clarifying answer (it is the week of the 4th so i know they are super busy).

Thanks for the video and congrats on landing it. The video is a great "How NOT to" lesson for all us newbs. Even though I've never been in that situation, I could see how I could easily make some of those same mistakes. Hopefully your video helps to keep from getting bitch slapped 12 times, when I land my first T.
