Launch area info for the CIH Battle of the Bays
We'll see you on Saturday morning... Info and Directions to the launch, lunch and awards presentation at J-Dock in the Vintage Marina on the North side of the harbor at the end of Barracuda at Harbor Blvd: Registration will start at about 5:30am. You can pay for your registration, Big Fish and Mity Might the morning of the event if you like and we will have a credit card machine available. Get off the 101 FWY at Victoria Blvd travel towards the harbor (west) to Channel Islands Blvd. Go right at Channel Islands Blvd and go over the bridge to the first stoplight. Go left on Harbor and Channel Islands Blvd., stay to the left and continue on Harbor Blvd when the road splits. Continue on Harbor Blvd. and turn left off at Barracuda Way. This street goes right to J-Dock and does a turnaround. The Registration tent will be on the grass near the turnaround and in front of J-Dock. You can park in the lot and wheel down the ramp to launch off of J-Dock. This dock area and ramp is between Hook's Landing and the Maritime museum at the end of Barracuda Way. There is plenty of free parking at both launch sites. You can launch early and buy bait from either Hook's or Cisco's… both operations will have bait available at $10 kayak scoops. WE WILL HAVE A SHOTGUN LAUNCH AT 7am. WITH ALL PARTICIPATING KAYAKS ASSEMBLED IN FRONT OF THE DOCK-J AREA …ANY TOURNAMENT ANGLERS NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE SHOTGUN LAUNCH WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED! As an alternate launch you can continue down Harbor Blvd past Barracuda Way to the next street which is Bluefin. If you go left at Bluefin and continue to the end you will be at the Maritime Museum. There is a ramp down to the water between the museum and the closed restaurant building. This is also a good launch for the kayaks and it is a straight shot down the ramp with only one turn at the bottom…this launch dock may be easier than the J-Dock for the longer boats. Please be careful of the hardware attached to the dock here as sea lion deterrents, they will make deep scratches in your hull. The Maritime museum launch is only about 100yds west of the J-Dock area. There is free parking available in the lots adjacent to the Museum and the closed restaurant if you choose to launch here.

Last Minute...?
Quote:
Are you signed up yet...it's a really good idea to practice sending in a photo submission or two and get on the iAngler app before Saturday morning. It's kinda tough to get registered and launched and familiar with the app all on the morning of the event....and the staff will be busy checking anglers in until at least 8am. so it may be difficult to get you started...sorry....! Best to get registered in advance...www.battleofthebays.com
