When I left the launch, the wind was blowing 15-20mph. When I got to work in Solana Beach the wind had dropped to nothing. Still would have been rough out there.

Ya, looking at the gliderport, it looks like it mellowed just before sunrise, bummer. 7.25 at 4 seconds at the pier and a NW windswell sounds yucky.

I could only do a quickie this morning so I'm glad I bailed. Would have sucked to have to paddle in just when it died off.

Hell yeah. I woke-up at 0430. 5.5 foot surf at 4 seconds. Said "screw it and got ready to fish. Looked at the wind report 15-20mph. My back yard overlooks the islands and it was howling.

Hit SD bay for a quick fix and maybe a two pointer.
I took this shot just before I launched- Paddled to the bait barges, then the wind started to pick up. Ended up with the ubiquitous lizard fish. Ken |
