Makos in Redondo
The first one hit the Bone just as I got it to the boat...damn are they aggressive and unafraid of anything... After he had eaten half of the first fish... we hand fed hm the rest and enjoyed the show...he bit that fish in half with just one chomp of those junk-yard-dog teeth. The second one bit on the troll and I thought we had hooked a sea lion as it really pulled some line out before he also chomped through the bonito. It was a fun display of nature at her finest... Rockfish were on the bite with some squid and the Promar Squirt rigs but it was hard finding some big fish...we spent a lot of time getting the little guys back down... The deepwater bass also bit well on the Hookup Baits....but again it was smaller just legal guys this time...I felt like I was raiding the nursery...LOL...!

Funny you mentioned raiding the nursery. We had one of those days on the back side of Catalina on Monday. Nothing but sub-legals and Macks for 12+ hours. Makes for a long and exhausting day when you're dropping 8 and 10 oz weight for nothing... |
