The ice on Silver Lake is starting to breakup...

It looks like the ice on Silver Lake is starting to break-up and the snow has melted enough to see the rental boats...

I will be there for the trout opener later this month. First time going in April. For the past few years Ive been going in summer.

I still have the usual 10 day July trip planned. But I wanted to check out the scenery earlier in the year. I know I'll be cold!

Btw, anyone is welcome to come by to my campsite. I am probably going by myself and have a lake front campsite.

WON tournament is going on, recently no big fish has come out of silver lake but for $20 I dont mind entering the tournament.

For the opener. I will probably get there right at check in time and on Sunday I will most likely fish the morning, then have breakfast and check out but fish some more before heading back down. Im not taking my family since it will be too cold for my little ones at night. So there will be room at the site.

No rush. I am going for sure so you can let me know up to night before just to confirm what time I will be there.

From the cam and this pic taken on the 2nd, it looks like its clearing up from the north end first but should be fully thawed in 3 weeks.

Reservation

I have a reservation for June 4th thru the 18th but since the second Battle of the Bays tourney is on the 10th...I won't be able to get there until Sunday the 11th.
If anyone is interested in that first week please get in touch with me and I'll try and get the reservation changed over to you.

Yup, beautiful it is!

Right now the lake is glassy with just 4mph wind. I hope for the best on opening weekend
