Visiting Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Visiting Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

I got a taxi from where I got off the bus to my hotel. A $50.00 CD ride. Fortunately I shared the cab and only paid half. First penalty for getting off the bus too soon.

I was in bed in a great room for the price by about 2:30 AM. Had a good night’s sleep compering to the train.

Saturday, July 18, 2016.

1-I woke up in the morning to this view from my hotel window. Love that greenery.

2-Later I enjoyed the provided breakfast here in fresh air.

After getting picked up by the rental car staff and getting my rental car, I started my touring of Vancouver for some shopping and sightseeing.
Weather was sort of clouding and glooming.

3-I had researched for a fly shop in Vancouver. There was an excellent one that I had to visit to get some tips and locally productive flies.

4-I had to get some more items, so I drove around with help of my Garmin GPS.

May the people who are responsible for providing GPS instruments and everything related to it have a wonderful life and after-life. Such a great invention.

5-Driving in Vancouver to get some sightseeing and shopping done.

6-I stopped at a restaurant in the Stanly Park for lunch. Mostly for the view.

7-When I saw this, so I asked the hostess if the mouse was on the menu?

She did not know about the trap.

8-There was on giant bird/squirrel house.

When the bill arrived, I paid cash. The waitress short changed me $2.00, so that what she got as tip.

In Canada, they do not have one or two Dollars bills. The single dollar coin is called unie and the two Dollars one is called twoee.

9-Did my souvenir shopping there and crossed it out my list of things to do.

10-There is always an idiot who wants to feed the wildlife, even though there are signs indicating that he should not.

11-The scenery from this view point was very popular with the visitors to the Stanly Park.

12-Driving through the Stanly Park.

13-Lots of high-rise buildings for residents to occupy.

14-Leaving Stanly Park via the toll-free Stanly Bridge.

15-One of the places that I found on line was this park.

This one is free, but there is another more famous one that has a fee of $40.00 CD ($37.00 CD for me). https://www.capbridge.com/our-story/

16-It has a suspended bridge to cross and go down to a trail next to a river.

17-How could you forget your shoe???

18-I decided to visit this one and was not disappointed.

19-At the end of the trail, there is a deep pool that is very inviting after a hot and muggy hike.

There are signs warning visitors not to dive into the pool. Danger of hitting sharp rocks in the pool.

20-Later through some visitors at the bridge, I found out about a great Persian restaurant. I wanted to have Canadian food, but there is no such menu.
Thus, I ended up in the Persian neighborhood and had a great meal.

In Vancouver, the grocery stores do not sell liquor. Only specialty liquor stores sell them. I guess to keep the selling of alcoholic products under control.

Due to being located farther north than Los Angeles, the days are much longer. At 8:00 PM there was plenty of sun!

TO BE CONTINUED….
