Slow Again at LJ (6/10)

I hit the water around 6:30. Met Casey M on the beach; looks like he had the right idea targeting rock fish.

Bait was actually pretty easy to make. Based on recent posts, I tipped the sbiki with squid, not I'm not sure it helped. Bait was in the upper column in 65-95 ft off the condo; all caught trolling / drifting. Mixed bag of greenies and Spanish.

I trolled flyline and dropper loop. I went all the way to the south end and back a couple of times, but nothing. The water was nasty green with a ton of crap (grass, kelp, etc.) in it.

Thanks for report. Btw- is the kelp up in La Jolla? Haven't been out there this year yet...

No, not really. Very little visible surface kelp until you get into water <60 feet deep. Last Friday, there was a lot of loose kelp strings, bulbs and grass floating around. It looked almost like lobster season.
