La Jolla launch

I heard that launching at La Jolla has been a two person affair to get to the water because of the large drop off or the need to get down the stairs
Has there been any improvements as far a building some sort of sand ramp so we can get to the water if we are solo.

Sand filled in so it is easy right now for one, follow the sidewalk on the south side.

Hope this makes sense

Take a large towel or something that you don't mind laying on the ground to drag your kayak

park your car

right next to the launch where the new walkway was built there is a small drop-off(2-3 feet). Take your towel or whatever you have and lay it on the edge of the cement, slide your kayak off the walkway and onto the sand. I was at LJ Saturday and was able to get my PA on and off that walkway by myself. It sounds a lot more complicated that it is.

I have two sets of scupper wheels now. I now just have someone push me while I'm in my seat and launch off the wall. It still takes two people, but I managed.

I launched there yesterday right after Chris. The only problem is later, there isn't the full width of the street so you can't get in to pick up the kayak if the rental kayak trucks are there loading and unloading. Using the south side walk is very doable.

Was out today. You can pull up to where it's all broke up now, just flip a U and unload from the street. Easy enough to walk the yak over the broken stuff to the sand, even easier with a buddy.
