Diesel is $5.15 a gallon in Chula Vista. I burn about 40 gallons a week. Going to Via Rapida weekly saves me my truck payment. I'm even condiering adding a 40 gallon aux tank. I can legally transport 119 gallons per crossing. |

The surcharge should be very small for a yak mothership trip. The Islander is a kick ass boat. Too nice to get off and sit in a yak.
I used to bitch about fuel surcharges, but the actual amount collected just gets a large sled pass the Nados. 30 people at $20 per day is only $1200 for a two day trip. 300 gallons of fuel... Hell those big boats fart that much leaving the slip. Anyway, have a great trip. Enjoy the bait tank, I'd et a kayatank ibstead, but that's another thread |

The fuel surcharge was only $20 on the SCI trip. The cost of fuel has probably gone up $1.50/gal since they announced the trip price last year. I would imagine that the $20 per person isn't going to cover their additional cost.
