Another 8-22-15 La Jolla Posting

Got to the launch at 5:30am and headed out. Made bait in 15 mins. I couldn't believe it. Usually takes me much longer and I often have to chum, but not today. Loaded up on all the spanish macs I could want. Headed out a little bit north of the kelp and at 6:50am hooked up in ~140 ft of water. Nice fight and beautiful fish. Bled, gutted and down below by 7am. Threw out a few more spanish and had three more bites. One thick bonito that made for a nice fight. One bite were I had drag too tight and took my bait and one 10 min fight that snapped my 25 lb fluro leader clean. Headed back and gave the rest of my bait away to another. Made it back to launch at 10am for an early morning. Fish was a little bit shorter than my recent catches at 32", but still a nice catch.

Setup: 8' Sabre 20-40 lb, Saltist 20 with 40 lb braid to 5' of 25 lb fluro leader. 2/0 ringed J hook.

Fresh Sashimi and collar and the freezer filled with fillets.

Thanks guys!
My daughter's fifth birthday is this Sunday.... so lots of fish tacos!
That is, if I don't catch something tomorrow. Then its sashimi or ceviche!
