Oex mission beach question

So I have a pro angler and need to install the transducer for my lowrance elite 4. I prefer in hull, but a swing arm might be ok. What's the consensus?
If I bring the yak down to oex, can they install this? And how much do they change for something like that?

Thanks
Jonathan

Yes they can. Try calling them for price and details.

swing arms add drag, no good IMO. Use the lowrance ready spot that comes standard on the PA kayaks.

I'm sure that OEX can install it for you. Just be aware though, I've been having problems with my Lowrance Elite 4 HDI and have posted about over the last couple of weeks. I called the Lowrance customer service department on Monday and he told me that their transducers work the best if the it is actually submerged below the water line. He sent me a new transducer free of charge and said that I should consider using an arm attachment rather than a thru hull arrangement like I currently have.

Personally I feel that it should work just fine with the thru hull location as it worked great prior to the problems I've been experiencing over the last couple of weeks. I don't like the idea of an arm as it could get tangled on kelp and debris, and also produce drag. I'm thinking of having a scuppy installation though I don't know how well that would work either.

Scupper would tangle way more then the arm but you can't pull scupper out of the water, so that's a no go for me.
