We have no pictures, so all I can't talk about the fishing.
The water was 85 degrees. One night of heavy rain. Most days the temperature was around 82-84 degrees. It got up to 97 for a couple of hours. The cafe is great. Lots of Jellyfish around, so lots an lazy turtles also. I can hardly wait to get back down there, counting the days, maybe? I'll take a camera this time. Walrus.

Hey gr8fuldude,
October should be outstanding, you won't be disappointed. We did see lots of huge bait fish schools in the area, and most of the pelagics hadn't shown up yet, just the fat locals hanging around. Don't worry there were no problems catching fish to bring home.

No picts. Day before we got there a kid caught a ROOSTERFISH from the beach on a top water plug. Rumored to have weighed 50#. We caught lot's of fish, just none with bragging rights.

Here's the rooster caught on a ranger lure down by the point. This was my first time to that area and I loved it. Will definitely be going back. As mentioned above, lots of fish, but nothing crazy. Except the rooster.

That was the second one that size caught here, last year we got one from a kayak that also weighed 50#.

Any chance of seeing the lure?
I hope to go in October, and any advise would be helpful. |

Thanks again Bob, for the invite to the area, I was with a few down the beach from you. My son caught the rooster, and it was a blast watching and filming it!! Thanks for your hospitality, we never made it back to say thanks, we were too busy watching you guys paddling and took a panga out our last day. Tons of BIG triggers, not much else. Super fun though, we will go back and try again. Love the area, easy drive compared to Loreto, and just as beautiful!! Thanks, Jim.

It was a ranger lure, just google it and see images. Great for roosterfish, reel as fast as you can and it skips across the water, and casts a mile. Tied straight to braid no problem.
