Had a gut feeling ...

Had one of those feelings in my gut telling me to fish today after work. Launched locally in some sketchy 3-4ft surf. Timed it almost right and ended up getting soaked on the first wave of a set. Lost my hat. Damn. Hauled ass to the local kelp with only a few hours of light left, got some greenbacks, threw one out and 10 minutes later I got hooked up. The local sportboat gave me words of encouragement as it pulled away, ended up getting it to the boat shortly after. Quick photo, then released. After so much time spent at this spot, and so many missed opportunities .... it felt damn nice to finally pull one up. The bait was really weird today and didn't want to swim so I just called it a day and headed in. On my way in I found my hat floating in the surfline ... great afternoon!

Way to go! I've been wanting to try a north county launch, but the conditions haven't been right. How was the landing?

Looks like you are keeping your fish locating skills honed in. Nice catch and release surfisher.

It's been really sketchy lately. They dredged a few months back and it made the launch really hard. Even when it's 1-2ft there are full little barreling waves. That doesn't mean it can't be done but timing is everything!

Thanks FISH! Had a few runs of no fish these last few days, seals were relentless to me. You gonna be out this week?

Monday or Tuesday, not sure yet cause I got some things I got to work around. Maybe I'll see you out there. Got one last Tuesday and released it, never thought I would say that about hooking up Yellows. Tight Lines
