DID YOU

Looking for some answers.
In the last year did YOU buy a NEW kayak? I did. Did you Sea Trial it first? I did. Did you have yak repairs done? I did. Did you have if rigged? Again I did. ALL DONE AT OEX
How about you? Did YOU use OEX for your kayak needs last year? Did you buy parts or electronics from them?

If not WHY NOT????
What was your reason to go else where? Too far, not enough time, did it yourself, price?

OEX gives us this forum, keeps it current, hosts events for our community and supports Heroes on the Water. They do excellent work, give great service and advice and customer service.

If you are not using their services YOU are loosing out on part of the experience of BWE. With everything BWE and OEX does for us we need to
avail ourselves of their services, I did and I hope you did too!!! This is OUR COMMUNITY please continue to support it and help it grow. Tight lines.

Got a trident 13 after jumping off the hobie wagon. My oex experience was awesome as usual.

Well I will be purchasing a more kayak friendly PFD soon so I'll stop by the Mission Bay store when I get a chance. It would be nice to try on some different ones before buying.

Their prices look comparable to others I've seen online.

Do they by chance spool reels there?

Hell no.
11years and going strong with just a bit of keel repair. Should get 10 more too.

Secondly with all the crap theyre putting on new yak designs, there isnt a hull that interests me in plastic compared to the P13. There are some glass yaks Im looking at though...

I did buy a kayak this year, but not from OEX, sorry. I have nothing against OEX at all, but there are two reasons I didn't.

First, I live inland quite a ways, it is a long drive to get there.

Second, when I first considered getting into kayaking I found Tim at Dana Point Jet Ski. He let me take different kayaks out to try and was very helpful, so I bought it from him (still have it BTW). He also gave me advice on how to fish at DP, where and when. I am the type of person who tends to stay with a place if they are good and treat me well.

Again, nothing against OEX, just DP is closer and treats me well. I do however on occasion order stuff for my kayak from them.

You better get it ordered and outfitted. I will be fishing on the 6th of June at the San Quintin Halibut tourney, at the 13th of June Heroes on the Water event at Tidelands and 24-30 June in Gonzaga.
Do it now
before you miss out on the fun. Time is running out. Tight lines.

OEX has always been awesome, only one complaint though. My wife sees OEX on the credit card statement far too often haha. Now I have to use cash.

I wish i would have known about OEX before i bought my Native kayak slayer 10 propel. I googles native dealer out here and OEX only popped up down in mission bay. i thought that was to far of a drive from riverside so I ordered my kayak online.. then had problems with shipping and the kayak was damaged and I would not accept it and it was sent back then it took a week for it to ship again finally get it everything is good. first time out i head to Huntington harbor and see OEX sunset beach my thoughts were "are you F#@@ing kidding me." I walked in and talked with Andy. Man dont know why that location didnt pop up. but I really wish i would have. wish I got the kayak from andy..

After going through a Mini-X then a Malibu Pro Explorer and spending almost 6 months debating on the pros and cons of a HOBIE (and much input from Andy) and testing a Revo at OEX SSB to get an idea of the "mirage drive", in March 2013 I "pulled the trigger" and ordered my Outback from Andy. For a couple weeks afterwards I would call Andy for advice every few days to add additional items installed which he happily performed.
Due to the distance from my residence and the limitation of driving time set by my Dr. necessary due to my multiple back injuries, it took me until the end of April (a month after Andy had finished) for me to pick it up. But he understood and showed great patience until I was feeling well enough to drive down and pick it up!
When I picked it up I was not disappointed, the many installations were flawless and clean!
I do not hesitate to recommend him and OEX to anyone looking for a Kayak to try out or buy, installations/repairs, or accessories to buy. If I decide to upgrade to the newer Outback with the upgraded seat or any other Kayak Manufacturer I will buy it from Andy at OEX SSB!
Although there are at least 3 other retailers closer to me (one within 10 miles of my residence), IMO there is no other option as far as I'm concerned. In addition OEX sponsors this site which I have found to be a great source of amusement, information and friendship.
A my condition improves I look forward to meeting many of the members (especially the comedians) of this site!

I was able to purchase a 2015 Hobie outback through Andy at OEX last year. Best purchase in years, had to do alot of negotiating with my wife though.
