A CCA-CAL Thank You !

Thanks to all those anglers that joined the CCA-CAL at the Fred Hall Shows.
And a Special Thanks to all the Volunteers that helped at the CCA tent or with the sign handouts at Long Beach.
We signed up about 1400 new members at both shows.

Just to keep the new members up to speed...the Board of Directors met at the Long Beach show and we reviewed the three goals that the board has adopted to date:
1- Launch CCA-CAL at the Hall shows
2 - Raise funds to hire an exectuve director
3 - Support Hubbs Sea World to expand the hatchery program to include yellowtail and halibut.

After some discussion we approved the following additional goals for CCA-CAL:
1 - Enhance fish habitat off the coast of California
(ie. Artificial Reef construction)
2 - Enhance populations of inshore fish in California (expand hatchery efforts)
3 - Establish a San Diego Chapter

Jim, thank you for putting so much effort into this great cause.

Just out of curiosity, what was the expected # of sign ups? 1,400 seems pretty good.

sign-ups ?

Ed...We signed up about 1400 new members at both shows. We aimed big and we were hoping to sign up 2000 new members...Never the less, that's a great start for the CCA in California and we are on our way to keeping this thing rolling. If you missed the shows or didn't sign up, please go to www.joincca.org and take a look at the website and see all the great advocasy and conservation work we do around the country.
Hopefully we'll see you at the "Day at the Docks" with our new CCA sign-up tent...stop by and pick up some info, stickers, and a copy of our bi-monthly magazine "The Tide".
