I wonder why? When I tumbled down a hill mountain biking and had to be air lifted out of remote area by sheriff EMT they billed my insurance 55k.
Guys who set or cause fires are sued by the county for damages. This guy should be billed as he does not appear to have any backup or support. I rather my tax money go to support those that are prudent and not take such risky adventures only to have someone bail ten out. |

Do to the USCG being a federal service. They dont bill people, its the tax payers dollars hard at work on this one.

I'd be too worried about falling out in the middle of the night while I try to sleep. But the guy got what he wanted. He's famous...if not for only 15 minutes. Guys got balls though.

Coast Guard doesn't bill for rescues. They don't want people to not call them when in trouble because of money worries.

I want to know how he spent that many days sleeping in and moving around to access the gear tied up to the kayak without ending up in the water himself. Big Stones or just Crazy. I'm not sure which.
