Hot report from SAN QUINTIN

Information just recieved from Joe Martin.

I just got a fish report from a friend down there. Her and her "old man" went out yesterday. 30 + Reds, 2 Lings and misc. other bottom critters. My friend Pedro at Tibburons pangas landed a 73 Lbs. White Se Bass in the bay will fishing for Halibut. One of the guys I believe it was from K&M caught a 60 Lbs. White Sea Bass last week in the same area. Blue Fin Tuna have been sighted 6 miles out off the point and again at 18 miles out. No reports of catchs yet on the tuna but I'm sure that will be coming. Gordo at Garcias pangas has been on the Yellowtail regularly.

So the June Kayak tournament could be great. TWO WSB over 60 lbs in the bay with Butts being caught too. This might be your chance to fish Baja without the HEAT. Grunion run last couple of nights too.

BTW K&M is now working from Don Eddie's, charters available. Hope to see you guys in June.

That can only be described as the 'fish of a lifetime'

Coming down

For those of you coming down to San Quintin in June. The 60 lb WSB was caught on a big hammer. It is 6 miles from Don Eddie's to the best spot in the bay, so you might need a 4WD to get closer. With the right tide you should be able to just drift it in 2 hours, no peddling or paddling. Depends on the wind. Bring an anchor, just in case. Bait can be made most times, always lizard fish to be had. The channels in the bay run 6-20 feet deep. I will have a good local chart and a local road map of the area that YOU can copy from at Don Eddie's. I will be there every day from the 1st-30th of June, from 3-8pm. I will also try and post twice a week from San Quintin.
Because of the currents do not forget your PFD. Some of you will remember my fork/spoon jigs from Las Encantadas, they work well here, the current gives them extra wiggle and if it wiggles it will get bit.
