Exclamation 2014 Islander Mothership Schedule

2014 Islander Mothership Schedule

Here we go! If you've done these trips before, you don't need any convincing. If you've never done one, you owe it to yourself to get on one of these trips, they are unlike any other kayak fishing experience. As always, live bait, food and sodas are included in the price. Alcohol, Fish Cleaning, and Tip are additional.

We did have a slight price increase on the trips this year. Anybody who has gone before will tell you this small increase is well worth it as these trips are AWESOME.

All trips are aboard the Islander and leave out of Fishermans Landing in San Diego bay.

1.5 day trip $330
Fishing SCI

May 23-25 Fri-Sun - FULL w/ Wait List

$315 per person

2.5 day trip $545
Fishing SCI

May 29- June 1st Thur-Sun - CANCELLED

June 26-29 Thur-Sun- Needs approx 6 to run

$545 per person

*New for 2014* 5.5 Day Trip $1650- CANCELLED
Fishing Cedros Bonitos and Mexican coast.
3 full days fishing

June 16-22 Monday pm- Sunday am

$1650 per person. Does not include Mexican Permits. Bring your own or purchase on the boat. This trip must be FULL (22 anglers) to run.

We will have the same booking process, so take note of the following:

When you call to register your spot, we will take a $100 non-refundable deposit on 1.5 and 2.5 day trips and 250.00 for the 5.5 day. The only exceptions to this refund are if the trip does not run (due to weather, or lack of sign ups, acts of God).

14 days prior to the trips departure, we will automatically charge the remaining balance (if you need to pay by different method be sure to contact us prior to this date. Once the remaining balance is paid, that is also non-refundable. If you'd like to pay the trip in full at time of booking, that's up to you, but it will also be non-refundable in the event something comes up that keeps you from doing the trip. This year we would like to avoid doing "Payment Plans" on these trips, this makes book keeping straight and less complicated. We ask that you pay deposite or pay in full only.

*Special note from The Islander: For all 2014 charters ALL Hobie Pro Anglers will not be allowed on the Mothership Charters.

Do you allow adventure islander kayak? I also have a 12' Porta Bote with 4hp outboard, is it possible to take it on this trip? I figured the boat and outboard takes up less space than a kayak.

No PA's as mentioned in Original post in bold print. No Porta Boat (they dont fit in the kayak rack), and Adventures are fine but Adventure Islands would not be as the Ama's will take up as much room as a second kayak would.

Update to the 5 day.

After speaking with John and Shane of the Islander we have decided to extend the 5 day into a 5.5 day at no additional cost. This will change the fishing time to 3 full days of fishing at Cedros. The boat will now leave at approx 6pm on Monday instead of Tuesday morning.

Combo. Width, height, and weight mostly. Nice boats, wish I had one, but a PITA to load, store, and unload on these mothership trips.

Exactly. These things are heavy so loading/unloading is really hard on the crew. Also due to the HUGE width and depth of these boats they do not fit in the racks and must be kept on the deck which creates a less safe environment for passengers. Not to mention they would only be able to fit maybe 2-3 of them on the deck meaning that if we opened it up to PA's a lot of folks would get left out.

If you own a PA and want to experience one of these trips dont let your boat stop you. OEX has kayaks for rent for these trips.

Yes you may have to paddle for a day but it is well worth it. Everybody should know how to paddle and practice it on occasion anyway. Mirage drives do fail and if you dont have at least a somewhat decent paddle stroke you are going to be hating life when it happens (especially on a PA).

Eric has stepped up and is the first person registered for the 5.5 day. If we can get this trip to run it will be epic!

Thanks to Makobob's generosity I will be able to attend the 1.5 day! Since my PA 12 is not allowed, he has offered for me to use his adventure. I'm booked!
