Treasures of Gichigami

The past few days have been quite the fishing experience on Lake Superior. Before this past weekend, the only thing I knew about Lake Superior fishing is it's very hard to catch fish. Water Temps and trolling speeds must be precise to catch Salmon and Lake Trout. People who fish lake superior are in big expensive pb's with every kind of gigit and gadget, down rigger, planer boards, speed and temp gauges, etc on board.

I made it a goal to learn how to catch fish out of my kayak in Lake Superior. I found some very helpful bait shops and youtube videos with hints to steepen the learning curve.

I have also taken a hit with gear. One broken rod tip, and a lost breaking screw cap on my reel.

Way to beat the odds in a kayak without the fancy electronics for an edge. Congrats, on your catch and the good eats

Awesome report, thanks for sharing your Superior adventure!
Brings back some really great memories..

(I grew up on the Great Lakes of Canada. I still have the ol' family place..
Heres a shot on the lake when I turned 4 and graduated to my first walleye casting rod from an ice fishin pole..)
