Lazy man launch this morning. No pump so I had 2 greenies in the tank. Paddled out with Neil ahead of the late crowd. A good school of YT boiled on some bait at 11-1OCLOCK. Perfect position. Perfect range. Perfect cast(no backlash). Short and Fat... not me suckers

Nice one Art.

I launched at 5:00 and went straight out. No bait till the kelp, then just scratched a half dozen. Saw some speed bait and some boils but nothing really substantial. Got bored and headed out. Made it over to the north just as the breeze picked up. Did two drifts before I decided it was getting to be more trouble than it was worth. Headed in. Packing up at the reserve line, I go to reel in the trapped rig that I left out till last. Feels hung up. Then twitches. Back way off and get a little flattie to color. Looks legal but I can't be sure, so I try to slide him onboard. Well, that doesn't work until the 5th try but he had the whole treble in his mouth so I figured I could risk it. Taped at 23" so he made the ride in with me. Already tossed my left over bait so I couldn't work the same drift. Will be a good taste test tonight, young vs old.

I'd like to try that test, but my old wife would slit my throat

That YT was an on the surface fight like a bonie. It got into some kelp on the surface and stayed there.

Sweet results
I spent 12 1/2 hours OTW yesterday for a mix of 6 rockfish, 1 turd roller, 1 whitefish and 1 calico all caught on the dorado megabait, and 1 log cuda on the flyline. I had 1 good fish pick up the flyline in 130 ft, but the hook pulled just as I started to get a tow. Right around 5pm, I saw a wsb go airborne. The entire fish was out of the water and he was a beauty. I fired off a bunch of casts, but nothing. All fish caught were released.
Bottom line,
No pointage for me this month

Wow...

Nice YT on a test paddle trip...

Even Art's ass way up above the water line...

This boat may be perfect for me.

Does it come equipped with the YT / WSB / Halibut switches for target selection?!

Mann, I paddled right by you twice today in the lime green navigator and never even thought you were paddling our demo boat. I caught easy bait, tank full of 5 inch greenbacks, but nothing touched them between 5:30 and 9:30. Well, had one good run right before I took off, mako bit off right as the line got tight. There were a few of them, chasing pencil cudas on top. Shoulda stuck around a little longer.

Nice fish
