Newport, 6-19-13
Slowly working our way back to the buoy line I set the hook on a soft bite. Ended up being a beast of a mud marlin that dragged me all the way to the docks by the launch, down a long the docks, in between some docks, back out to the buoys and then back down to the launch. Realizing that with 6lb I had little chance of actually getting my bait back, I broke it off. We tried for a little while longer and I got another smaller mud marlin (maybe 15lbs) and got my bait back from that one. We finally gave up around 11:00. While the catching sucked, the fishing was great. I always love fishing with Steve and having my brother out to join us was even better. Thanks Steve for the use of your yak too.

Funny thing about sleigh rides, Steve thinks like me. He asked me what I was using, so he didn't hook the same thing.
Vincente, spaced out that we'd met at the launch. It was nice meeting you, how'd you do?
