AND'S got a demo in his shop on an outback. I opted for a cleaner look by having a 'wet mount' installed, but ANDY'S right, the RAM probably works better . Having a little trouble 'dialing in' my unit on the lake . I hope HOBIE molds in another scupper transducer on the Outback series. I couldn't do mine because I wouldn't be able to use a Hobie bait tank . (they could have used the seat scupper holes instead!)

That looks much cleaner that what I've been thinking of doing. I just got a SI,DI system and want to make it portable. What size Pelican box is that, I assume Mission Bay has them as well?

Pretty much the same setup I have for my Raymarine Dragonfly. It is great for when I travel.

Nice setup and fish Jim. I took my son fishing on the rental boats at Jennings this last weekend and we thinking it would be great to be able to take the FF with me. So this provides the best way to do it.

My wife hooked me up with one of these for Christmas. I sent her the link when she asked what I wanted, and BAM! She ordered it. So she helped with OEX's sales this month.

Will this work on a Hobie Revolution 13? Do you just stow it in the forward hatch during time in the surf line and then mount once past the wave?
Head unit question: What do you find most folks are using? I'm reading Lowrance and Hummingbird. I'm leaning toward a FF/GPS combo but am in model-number hell. Are Lowrance 4 and 5 lines as high as you go for a yak? Are the 7s too big or overkill?

I have used Lowrance and Humminbird, both are great in their own respects, it's really more of a personal preference as to controls and functionality. I like the Humminbird line because I think the controls are easier to work, but I know others that would say the same for the Lowrance. I think anything higher than the 5 on Lowrance is overkill for a Kayak. You can find some really nice FF/GPS units for really good prices. BPS has the 6 month pay options, even if they are not advertising it, you can call them and ask for it.

I was looking for the link for these on the website and wasn't able to find it anymore. Are you still offering these?
