New Rod, Old Fish...

On the new (and my first) rod build:

- A tad under 42"
- in the OC
- mac
- trap rig

My only hali bite of the day while Wayne plays with sharks, Manny chases the elusive WSB...

An exceptional fish! Too bad the pic doesn't show how really thick this baby was - looked to be at least 5" to me. And I thought all your grunting/groaning was due to a big kelp hookup - that new homemade rod performed well and, as usual, so did you!
