la jolla 4/27 or 4/28?

I am planning to hit la jolla on 4/27 or 4/28 for the first time and i was wondering if I could meet up with a small group to point me in the right direction, wet some lines and shit the bull for a while.
Also, my rods are spooled with 30 lb test, is that going to be good for most of the fish out there? Thanks all! I appreciate the help!

Just a heads up, I saw a sign pertaining to the 28th, no launching or landing between 8am and 11, special event.

Thanks! Would have been terrible to get out there and not even be able to launch.

Cross the Coronado bridge - stay in the right lane. 100 yards past the old toll booths take the first right, go up to the stop sign and take another right. At the roundabout, park to the right by the skate park. We launch from the beach just across the grass there.

Check the CKFS Spotathon thread for the details - all day event, so really doesn't matter, but some of us will get there early. I'll probably get there around 6:30...

27th

Still debating... on the 27th, I am either going to La Jolla or to from Mission Bay out towards the jetty. I will be on the yellow ws t140, probably looking confused and lost. Still considering the tidelands, but I have been there 12 out of the last 14 times I have gone fishing and I'm getting a little tired of it.

Mission Beach Jetty

Hey there,

I would be willing to meet for a paddle out from the Mission Beach Jetty. How about Sunday? It would be kind of cool to grab some 'dines at the bait receiver then head out, maybe troll for a halibut on the way out. What do you think?

I was also contemplating driving out to Vail lake to check out the LMB action...
Undecided....

Janine

Saturday is definitely a good day to hit LJ if you've never been in the yak. Looks like the waves won't be big at all at the launch and it won't be too windy. Get out there and have some fun.

Mission bay jetty

I think I am going to hit the Jetty, reports around La jolla aren't very good, I am going to hit Mission bay. I am going to try and be out there around 630, might be out all day. Be in the yellow ws t140 in the big hat.
