Shelter Island Sunday 4/7?

Anyone planning to head out Sunday? I'm looking to launch at Shelter Island. Maiden Voyage of the new Kayak.

I was supposed to go this morning but had something come up

Come hell or high water I will be out there in the morning! What time you planning on launching?

When you guys launch from Shelter Island, where do you end up fishing? I went out last Wednesday and didn't catch anything. Spent most of my morning dodging the Nimitz and a few other Naval ships. Weren't any other folks out fishing, no other Kayakers so I was kinda fishing by brail method.

W I N D Y !

Tons of bait in the water and TONS OF BOATS!!!!!!!

The south wind and the ripping current crossing each other at right angles made drifting no fun at all! Caught a ton of lizards and that was just about that.... til I put my yak up on the car and ........................car won't start! Still not sure whats wrong, had to have it towed from SI back to Poway, That was cheap

Water was about 57 or 58 degrees cloudy and full of loose kelp and eel grass. By the time I got off the water the bay was like a washing machine with all the wakes from the boat traffic as well as the wind chop. Wish I had something better to report but the car thing kind of sucked the life out of even being on the water.
