Dana Point Boat Ramp Fee?

I was looking at their website and it price the launch fee by the size of the trailer. Does anyone know the cost for kayaks without trailers? And is there an additional fee for two kayaks on one vehical?

I think they charge by the trailer, I don't think there is a size variance. The fee was $10 last time I launched a boat there.

It's a machine that takes $10(1, 5, or 10) to open a gate. I don't think it can tell what goes through

you can go to the office and get a overnight pass there if your going to be out for more than a day but its 10 bucks to open the gate as others have said even if you only have a yak.

$10 isn't too bad if we are launching two yaks. Thanks all.

Yeah, thats what I do now I just wanted to try it once to see if its worth the slightly shorter trip in and out.

I should probably also ask, does the $10 include parking or is that just for ramp use?

Both included in the 10$ and I use it because to me it is deff worth the shorter paddle and the bait barge is right there.

At Doheney you can park in the parking lot at the end of the jetty for a buck an hour and pull your yak to the water. You can also unload your yak at that parking lot and then drive back out and turn left at the street that goes into the state beach and there is free parking at the top of that hill. about a 4 minute walk back to the yaks. I always thought the parking ticket machine started working at 6:00 am but I was ther a little early this past week and it was working at 5:45. I know it closes at midnight because I got a citation at 12:05 while lobstering this past year.

I love launching at the ramp. It's worth it to me to have that extra time on the water fishing and not paddling.

Me too...totally worth it, and you don't have to worry about getting ticketed or towed...right + extra fishing time...and you also can rinse off all your gear at the end of the day, at no extra charge!

If the thought of grinding upwind an extra mile to baby beach at the end of the day makes you cringe, $10 for parking is worth it. If you arrive early, bring exact change.

Exactly, bring a hose and give it a good freshwater wash down and let it air dry on the way home. I know im going to start using the ramp from here on out. Park, launch and bait for under 25 buck. Still a good cheap day on the water.
