I was going to go tonight but didn't because of overtime at work. I might go tomorrow since I'm off and the wind should calm down. Gotta go see if sports chalet has any jigs.
Do they use the single large jig or use the jig we use for smaller bait squid with multiple tiny jigs with a bigger jig in the bottom of it, if that makes and since

I would bring a big jig the 2' model, and also the medium sized ones 10" models. Don't forget to bring sinkers. The smaller jigs will work but if we get into some bigger models they'll rip out. You really want to catch'em 1 at a time, more than that might be a problem....

Hopefully they hang out for awhile...enough to start seeing them up north in our hood...but you can never wait to catch these things if you want them. They could all dissapear tomorrow for all we know...

What size sinkers. And I had no clue there were 2' squid jigs I thought the 10-12" ones were the big ones

We went out last night on the Seaforth outta Mission Bay. It was fun experience. I would suggest to take a look at the weather forecast to prevent the sickness.

Half the boat was

I have 2 big squid jigs forsale. Shoot me a pm if interested

Yeah I caught 4.

All said and done it was around $75 including a squid jig, meal, and tip for filleting. I brought my own rod.

I was on the Clemente on that 1/5 trip. We got into them below San Mateo Point at the bottom of San Clemente... outside of Trestles. They were 5-10# averaging 8#. My son and I each got 20. Except for one he kept the others were stomped and released to feed the crabs. Lots of fun! They charge $3 to clean one and you had to have anything you kept cleaned on board... the landing doesn't want ink dripped on the dock, sidewalks and parking lots. The 7 oz 3-prong glow in the dark squid jigs are perfect. They worked better than the 20" mondo models. We used 40# and 50# line but 30# would've been fine too. Just get out and kill all you can while they're around. Dana is charging $25 and there's no jackpot available. They're locusts of sea and need to be gotten rid of. BTW, they actually tasted pretty good fried up!

I know you're up north but Dana Landing in MB has BOGO on the squid jigs. Like them on Facebook to see the special. Just FYI.

I went out last night, and not one person caught a squid down in San Diego on the big jigs. All of our squid being caught were on the medium jigs
