Tidal Coefficient and hooping for Lobster

Friday night and saturday night have a very high Tidal Coefficient.

Last year I remember the lobster guys saying that a high Tidal coefficient is not as good for lobstering as a normal Tidal coefficient.

I am torn on going out Friday Night or waiting for the Tidal coefficient to mellow out ....

I guess my question is, Is a high Tidal coefficient bad for hooping?

full moon, no moon, new moon, low tide, high tide, slack tide or tide with bleach.......I've caught them during all cycles except during the spin cycle. I get out whenever I can so I don't bother looking at the tides.

Go Out When You Can

Go Out When You Can...It's not brain surgery...it's hoopin'!
As soon as you think you have the little buggers figured out...you'll get skunked.
Just go have some fun and see if you can get some Good eats!
My favorite time is as a large tide is rising but I meet many folks that say they crawl best on the ebb tide, or on the falling tide...Whatever...just go get em'!
I think good water movement is important.
Good Luck this season.

using the Coefficient of Variation Calculator Cv = Standard Deviation / Mean
it is determined that lobsters have to eat and they eat at every opportunity that comes along. their rice size brains can *sometimes out calculate the variations calculator but as some have already pointed out. this rarely happens

I was in Mission Jetty / Mission Bay Area This AM. The TC didn't seem to matter much. We will be eating well tonight as I thawed out some WSB (just in case) and came home with 2 legals

And threw back over 10 shorts ..

One lobster I measured like 10 times ... it was exactly on the line .. measure it a couple more times and said f it and threw him back .... this was before I caught the two legals

Got my second hole in a net from a very aggressive sea lion.

Lots of boats ..... couple yakers out there

I was debating whether to go out tonight. I was searched the internet about full moon and do lobsters crawl... I'm glad this 'ol post came up, I think I get it.

good info. i like to drop the goodies farther away from my targets when the tide is tide is pulling hard. tough call on the coefficients, this year has been low numbers equalling high bug numbers though.

I was seriously reading this post until I saw the dates!!!

I agree with go anytime you can.

I am going on a friend's boat on Wednesday night for the first time this season and first time for him since he got the boat.

I was in Montreal for the opener and missed going to Catalina.

To add salt to the wound, two round tickets and commodore upgrade vouchers expired before I can use them. Dohh.

No replacement was allowed. double Dohh.

I clicked on the post to find out information and WTF? It's my 7-year-old post.

So what I have learned,

Trying to figure out lobsters is like trying to figure out women. Women are much easier to figure out than lobsters for sure

This year's largest so far......

I'm still standing by my 7 year old advice...
