Halibut Aerials..

I have been having the misfortune of decking biscuit after yellow..
Yellow after biscuit, with every neighbor around me decking fourty-fifty# class Halibuts?!..(Insert halibut icon)
I have been trying out several rigs to target the brown kind, with nothing but short bites to show for constantly, even with traps...
After countless mentoring sessions by none other than BWE's own Halibut King, aka Greg Andrew, I finally succeeded with a quality Hali, with whom she seriously took no pity on my lack of flat game..I thankfully, had my ass clearly handed to me today by special request.. I hope you can all get a good laugh at my mistakes.
Just to be safe, I gave her the ol' Tred Barta 'Hello' to dispatch..
A few more refining rounds, and i'll be hanging up at Cabrillo & the Point pronto..

A 'BIG' Thank you goes out to Greg Andrew!!!!!!
All your tips, tricks, knots, theories, and more are what got my gun scopes finally aligned to the flatness..
*(Our little 'Mojo-Swap' we discussed just the other night played out perfectly today..)*

Sincerely,
Wade

Some funny shiiiit there Wade!

I never tried using a gaff to fillet my halibut, looks like you almost skinned half of it.

Very nice fish, congrats.

They usually go limp when you gaff the stomach, this one must have had two stomachs because limp he was not.

You couldn't have picked a better mentor. If Greg spends any more time on the water he's going to turn into a Merman

Well done Wade!!! Some funny chit right there (Hello). That fish had some very kewl mottling on the underside. Was that a flying (swimming) gaff you were using? Ironic how we both went out to target the fish that mave been giving us more aggravation than anything, and both only go home with those species.

I saw the gaff job from a distance, thought for sure you had lost it, and I think everyone for miles heard you. Nice job.
