I hooked a thresher today on the surface at 200' of water, 3 miles due west of Big Rock, on a flylined mackerel. Bit thru the 30# flouro in a heatbeat. Saw other tail slaps. There was a huge area of bait on the surface out there too, tons of big mackerel feeding. Calm and glassy till 1 pm. Last edited by blackcloud9; 04-23-2007 at 08:41 PM. |

yes the weather was MUCH better than expected, and I was glad to see 2-3 foot swells on the surf report. Matt, I am the kid that was talking to you at the Del Mar Fred Hall show with CJ Siebler.
