Great job on landing your shark.

I hooked a thresher today on the surface at 200' of water, 3 miles due west of Big Rock, on a flylined mackerel. Bit thru the 30# flouro in a heatbeat. Saw other tail slaps.

There was a huge area of bait on the surface out there too, tons of big mackerel feeding.

Calm and glassy till 1 pm.

yes the weather was MUCH better than expected, and I was glad to see 2-3 foot swells on the surf report. Matt, I am the kid that was talking to you at the Del Mar Fred Hall show with CJ Siebler.

Good place to make bait. I went out there Sunday morning while Brad, Tyler and their crew watched me go (probably laughing while knowing better). Macs of all sizes were feeding on 1/2 bait fish fry. Tiny little bastards.. I picked through the huge macs and took what I needed. Kurt was right about the big bird schools, not always a good sign...
