How not to reel in a fish.

Went out recently and had the 'ol gopro on to catch some mayhem. I noticed that the bait seemed very nervous. Even when they were schooling. So whilst making bait i soaked a greenie. I was pretty shallow when this strike happened. Pretty good day on the water.

New personal best 34.1
And if you wanna see me reel it up. Look at all the wasted movements in the clip. If your going to start an action finish it instead of trying to to it 2 or 3 times. You can see but i doubled over on my gaff at one point and almost stabbed myself. Not the end of the world but the abdomen is the last place you want a puncture wound. anyways enjoy the video but dont turn the sound up too loud the music is tracked up too high.

Congrats on your PB!!!

Awesome video!

You've got to hate that feeling after the stringer pops and the line goes slightly slack for a moment... and love the next one when you realize it's still there!

Nicely done!

One of the best videos I've seen - especially because of the kelp and the clear challenge faced in having to pull/break the fish free from the salad. Before we had spectra, it would have been nearly impossible to horse the thing through. You earned that fish WTG!

Awesome video! I can't believe how hard you are pulling on that fish. Wish we had yellowtail in Norcal.

That kelp situation looks like a serious challenge.

Watched the whole thing...great job bringing him in quick.

Thanks for the couple of bait. They are hard to make these days.. I did end up hooking up later that day and broke a rod for my lack of cranking that SOB out of the kelp quick enough....

You earned that beer.... Great fish! Congrats!

Thanks for the awesome video. Props to the fish for giving you that great sleigh ride and to you for the way you worked it.

I know how much people like their music. I just wish I could have heard the hull slap, your reel screaming, maybe some heavy breathing, light cussing and that victory yell I think I could barely make out at the end. That's real music, to my humble ears. (Just wishing aloud).

But back to my real point: on the nice fish and great video.
