That kid could be the poster child for future fishermen. He loved the thrill & was empathetic for the fish as well.

youd be surprised...i used to see people cut the barbs off of big rays on the San Clemente pier ALLLLLLL the time when i was younger. Especially late night sharking trips.

If you go to Sea World and see the sting rays without tails those were actually put there because some fisherman cut the tail off. I was talking to the keepers there at the bat ray pool and they told me that 99% of the rays that come to them cut off or something like that were rescued for the reason of not way to defend themselves.
Most people have a fear of these things, but they are not mean at all. Sure they have a stinger but that's the only way they can defend themselves. Their slick feel to their skin is a second level of protection. That kid is great, I love seeing that he's growing up with a carring heart. Great video.
