Take what I say with a grain of salt, as I'm still a noob and waiting to get my yak, but I'm familiar with the area.
Long Beach, Huntington Beach and Seal Beach aren't too far from there. Newport is a little more south. Other than that, someone else will have to chime in! Have fun.

you can take the 55 over to newport and launch at the coastguard beach and fish the barge or back in the bay or head right outside and find some kelp pretty close from what i understand. havent fished it myself....
http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ead.php?t=9143 that or you could go to seal beach and see if andy can give you any tips on fishing that area and launch by OEX probably. |

Sometimes when people say "its been slow lately" it just means its been slow for them.
Go to Newport, go out to the kelp bust a 23 inch checker and post it up! |
